If there were a timeless flower, it would be the lotus. <\/p>\n
It is such an amazing, and durable flower – in its own survival and as a symbol, despite its delicate appearance and scent. It is hard to believe that such a sweet thing can grow out of the mud and up through the water.<\/p>\n
It is long lived once mature and there are indications of the lotus being around since the Ice Age, which is a feat because most other things were dying away and going extinct. There are even lotus seeds in existence today that have been germinating for over ten centuries. Somehow this little, or not so little when it expands to 10 ft wide and grows 3 to 6 ft high, plant has adapted to the point where it can survive under many harsh climatic conditions such as being submerged under ice or blooming under extreme heat. <\/p>\n
There is an ideal soil for these lovely flowers, but they have learned to thrive in so many soil conditions that it has become part of the ecosystem in almost every part of the world; from Egypt and Greece, to Russia, South Asia, Australia and even the Americas.<\/p>\n
We love a good lotus, as is seen by our nightlight and our other fan lamp.<\/p>\n
This fan is 18 pieces of translucent and semi-translucent colored glass, which consist of wispy white, mottled pink, mottled green, and bubble blue glass. It is all soldered together and polished to perfection. Made with care and love. <\/p>\n
It comes with multiple choices of base: plain oak (no light) to just allow for natural light to come through, an oak lamp base, a brass shell lamp base, or no base at all – where we change it to a hangable item.<\/p>\n
The lamp bases come with all the electronic parts you need; a light socket, brown cord w. plug, and the clicking switch. <\/p>\n
Each holds a night light or accent bulb, which is included.<\/p>\n
