The lady slipper flower is of the orchid family and native to northern North America. It is a sign of summer because it blooms from May-July. In nature, this rare and reclusive flower is a delicate plant, home gardeners can propagate lady slippers, but it takes diligence. Lady slipper propagation is best done either in the spring or fall, but don’t expect flowers until the second year. In fact, in some cases, it can even take more than five years to bloom. They can be seen in varieties from magenta to the whitest-pink, yellow, and most rarely pure white.<\/p>\n
Our particular lady slipper will have a gorgeous vibrant color pouch with either the same or different color upper petals, which offset the green of its leaves. This flower is a great gift for anyone who loves plants, or just enjoys the signs of nature because this flower will never wilt or fade; an everlasting bloom.<\/p>\n
This suncatcher gives a wonderful light show with color that varies depending on how the light hits it. <\/p>\n
It is a ten-piece item, with a bent wire stem, soldered together with 60\/40 tin\/lead solder, and polished to perfection. It hangs from a wire hook soldered to the top\/back.<\/p>\n
